Martin Luther King Way

Rainer Valley Link Light Rail Line

With construction nearing completion and final testing beginning, the Seattle Link Light Rail on MLK Way is schedule to begin service later in 2009. The section profiled here is the Rainer Valley Stretch of the Link Light Rail running down the middle of MLK Way. The corridor is similar to University Ave with small businesses on MLK surrounded by residential neighborhoods. The design of the line has similarities to what's proposed on University Ave as well.

Strategies

1) Lacks elongated, landscape medians adjacent to light rail tracks, save right-of-way for other uses.

2) The design of the stations saves right-of-way by being positioned on one side of intersection
